Fr. Mathew Alakalam Public School and Kindergarten mobilize the MCBS’ vision and its mission to become god's bread to the world at all levels and to realize the long-cherished dream of many of its fathers to have an institution for providing holistic education in the name of its founders. Having considered the needs and aspirations of the people around Kodassery, the Provincial synaxis held in 2002 decided to start a CBSE School at Mechira, (Mettippadam), The year  2002 was the 25th death anniversary of Fr. Mathew Alakalam. So the MCBS Zion Provincial Council decided to start the school at Mechira in his name.


The Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, (MCBS), is a Catholic community of Religious Priests working all over the world for the building up of the Kingdom of God. It serves the humanity by encountering the image of Christ in the last, the least and the lost of the society. It was founded on 7th May, 1933 in Kerala and now has its presence all over the world. It has become one of the fastest-growing Catholic Religious congregations for men by attracting many enthusiastic and dedicated young men to its fold. There are 450 Fathers working in different parts of the world by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus and serving the humanity. MCBS Generalate is in Aluva and the two Provincial Headquarters are in Kottayam and Kozhikode.

MCBS fathers do work mostly in the villages of Asia, Africa, and South America. The members of the community are also a service in many European and North American countries as well as in Australia. They are serving the people of God who are driven to the peripheries of society. Its Charism is lived by taking care of the AIDS patients, mentally retarded children, street children, beggars and by establishing village school sand hostels where free and quality education is ensured to the students. It tries to live up to the expectation of the One, Who commanded them to love one another unbiased. The goal of its Educational involvement is to provide excellent education anchoring on character formation to every child who comes to our school.
